A little more about me
I grew up in India, spent four years in Atlanta for college, and now live in San Francisco. I studied finance and economics at Emory, which explains some of how I think and very little of what I actually spend my time on.
Most of what I know came from working at startups while I was still in school. Fintech and B2B payments, consumer lending, an AI coaching platform. The titles changed a lot. The work was usually the same shape: talk to the people closest to a messy problem, figure out what is actually being asked, then make something useful happen. Almost all of that started with a cold email. One got me a software internship before I had any business asking for one. Others led to founder conversations and rooms I would never have reached through an application form. I still send them.
These days I write about things I keep thinking about, mostly around AI, and build small products when writing is not enough to test the idea. I like problems where the first job is working out what the problem even is.
Outside work
- Soccer
- An obsession I grew up with since I was eight, and where most of my time went. I once played against La Masia players, including Xavi Simons.
- Poker
- Part college ritual, part recurring reminder that I am worse at probability than I think.
- Rubik's cube
- About 20 seconds, depending on whether anyone is watching.
- DJing
- I enjoy finding the next song almost as much as playing the current one.
